What an exciting story! It gave me all of those feel good vibes, umm two gorgeous cyborgs, yum, falling all over themselves for that one special lady. Need I say more? I love that the author kept me right on the edge of my seat with the professional conflict, the bad guys who always try to ruin everything, and the family strength factor. This book is a fantastic addition to the Drift series and I can’t wait to see what she comes up with next.

Blessings from the lady

This warrior might be considered a Vesh by the Lathar, but the author has proven he is a paladin that Charlemagne would have made one of his twelve. I love his deep devotion and steadfastness, and especially the way one quirky little human holds his heart. This book has to be one of my favorites from the series. The characters are fantastic, the storyline has every element of action and danger that make a story amazing, and the emotions are off the charts. I was rooting for this couple during the entire book and may have cried a few times as they struggled towards their HEA. I can’t wait to see what happens with the other couples, I hope the author takes pity on us and doesn’t make us wait too long.

Mina was born and raised in the East Farthing of Middle Earth (otherwise known as the Midlands, England) and spend her childhood learning all the sorts of things generally required of a professional adventurer. Able to ride, box, shoot, make and read maps, make chainmail and use a broadsword (with varying degrees of efficiency) she was disgusted to find that adventuring is not considered a suitable occupation these days.

So, instead of slaying dragons and hunting vampires and the like, Mina spends her days writing about hot shifters, government conspiracies and vampire lords with more than their fair share of RAWR. Turns out wanna-be adventurers have quite the turn of imagination after all...

(But she keeps that sword sharp, just in case the writing career is just a dream and she really *is* an adventurer.)

The boring part: A full time author, photographer and cover artist, Mina can usually be found hunched over a keyboard or graphics tablet, frantically trying to get the images and words in her head out and onto the screen before they drive her mad. She's addicted to coffee and would like to be addicted to chocolate, but unfortunately chocolate dislikes her.

I truly enjoy how this series is filled with family, both blood and chosen. The support shown by all of the characters is another of my favorite parts. Through in some Meryn moments, the baby boom and the ever-building story line and I am all in. I can’t wait to read the next book.

Book Aversary – Fury – Laurann Dohner

Did you know that yesterday was the anniversary of one of my favorite series starters?  Laurann Dohner’s Fury was first published on July 27, 2011 (according to Goodreads).  This book has had three covers, the current cover that we know and love, the original cover, and even a French version cover.  The one thing all three of these covers have in common is the chest porn theme.  Yummy.

This book continues to be one of my go to reads when I am overwhelmed with the new release options and I just need to relax with a familiar, dog eared friend.  You guys can gasp in shock all you want, but yes, I am a faithful corner folder.  Well, not so much anymore since I usually leave the paperbacks decorating my bookshelves and grab my IPad mini with my Kindle app.

 

I truly love this book, it was the book that stated my love of all things Laurann Dohner and it solidified her as one of my one-click authors.  I love all of the characters and the action, danger and excitement that she just makes jump off of the pages.  This series might have reached a total of fifteen books, so far, but I truly hope she continues with the series.  There are so many New Species that I still need to know that they find their HEAs.  I am looking right at you Jericho and Brass, and how about those ladies?  Breeze needs to get her task force man after putting up with all the nonsense those Species males get up to.

 

Well no matter how long it takes, I will continue to read and love this book along with the rest of the series.  If you have not already grabbed a copy I highly recommend that you do.  You will not be disappointed and might find yourself a new staunch supporter of the New Species and their perfect mates.

A loss of smell makes this an almost missed opportunity

A bachelorette hookup turns into so much more, and I loved the entire journey.  I love how the authors took this sweet pair and matched them up from the beginning.  But they do what they do best and couldn’t make it so easy on us or the couple.  They filled the pages of the book with so many surprises, what with bad exs, terrible jobs, a surprise bun in the oven, and a fated reconnection that I just couldn’t put the book down.  I enjoyed everything about this story, the couple were perfect for each other and just really fantastic people and the steam did its best to fog up my glasses.  I really hope this writing duo keeps the books coming because I am absolutely in love with the wolves and mates of Wolf Ranch.

Oh wow!  What an emotional experience.  Wendy has gone through so much in the last few years, when she met Chadler she was due for her own little miracle.  I love the direction the author took this book and the way the characters connected and grew into their relationship.  Like all of her other books, the author kept us on the edge of our seats with those intense moments at every turn.  I enjoyed the overlap from the previous books and yet loved that this book can stand on its own.  I am really enjoying this series and I can’t wait to read the next installment.

A story full of heart

What a truly romantic story. The author slowed us down a little with this book keeping my interest and intensity level at an all-time high. I love the characters, especially the loving couple. She is sweet as pie and he has the softest heart hidden behind a facade. The storyline is just so perfect because in the end all they need is love. I really hope the author continues to bring us more books like this. I absolutely loved this slowly growing love and look forward to the next book by the author.
