Where can I find me a Hotshot?

Where can I find me a Hotshot?

Wildfire Griffin (Fire & Rescue Shifters:  Wildfire Crew book 1)
Published to Amazon on November 28, 2018
Author Zoe Chant

I loved this book!  I was lucky enough to get this book a few days before everyone else and it took all my effort not to spill the beans before it was out to the public.  Zoe Chant is a group of writers (who they are, I will never tell) that have come together under one name to publish their books, with great results in my humble opinion.

I have not really found any of the Zoe Chant books that I did not enjoy, but this one is close to the top of all the ones I have read.  I love that Edith has overcome so much, even without the support of her own family, to be where she was.  I absolutely adore that Rory and his pack take her under their wings and help her to get where she really wanted to be.  The scene with the old crew at the end is absolutely epic!  But I won’t spoil it for all of my fellow readers.  This is the kind of family and friends that you need to have behind you so we are all able to succeed.

Click on the book above to grab your copy and fall in love with the Wildfire Crew yourself.

Where can I find me a Hotshot?
I’m in love with this group of Hotshots!  They are just one big family and they accept Edith into the fold almost as soon as they meet her. Rory couldn’t be a better alpha or a more perfect mate for Edith. He takes her differences in stride and learns her little tells to make it easier for her to cope. They might hit a couple bumps in the road, but they get through and the pack supports each other all the way until the end. Once I started reading I just was unable to put the book down until the very end. I can’t wait for the next book in the series!

Misunderstood destiny

Misunderstood destiny

Tease Me: A Curvy Girl and Dragon Shifter Romance (Dragons Love Curves book 2)
Published to Amazon on July 18, 2018
Author Aidy Award

I loved this book!  I had originally read it as one of Milly Taiden’s Sassy World books “Sass Me”, but when Kindle Worlds was taken down Ms Award decided to expand it and put it out on her own as Tease Me.  Although there are some changes, it has not detracted from the story and in fact has enhanced it.  Like all Ms Award’s books, this is a fun book that is a fast read with just enough heat and danger to keep it super interesting.  I especially enjoy where Steele is pretending to be a stripper in the beginning and cannot seem to find any energy to enjoy the ladies swarming him until Fleur walks in, his own little flower to love and protect.

So many things are revealed in this book, showing the growth in the series between book 1 and book 2.  I cannot wait to read book 3 and see how much more the characters and the Dragons Love Curves series grows.

Click on the book above to grab your own copy.  I really think you are going to like it!

Misunderstood destiny
When Fleur meets Steele he is an undercover bodyguard fronting as a fireman stripper. From the moment he catches a glimpse of her he is lost and found at the same time. This book is full of moments of laughter, danger, family and love. The story is so good, making it a very fast paced read that pulls you along to the end. I look forward to seeing which dragon finds their true mate next.

Prideless (Cooper Creek Pack book 2)
Published to Amazon on December 20, 2015
Author Kasey Belle

I am in love with the Cooper Creek Pack!  I’m not sure why I find that amazing as I have yet to find a book of Ms Belle’s that I have not enjoyed.  I realize I still have more to read, including two contemporary books, but I feel confident that I will not be disappointed.

Christmas is one of my favorite times of the year, so having this book start in that setting is perfect.  I really enjoyed the easy flow between the current time and the past when the book shows how max and Shelly meet.  It is as easy as moving from one thought to the next.  I even loved that it was a gentle love story.  There was danger, but that is not the focus.  The love between the two main characters is the focal point with a strong side view of the relationship between Fiona and Shelly.  This is a perfect book two in the series!

Click on the book above to grab your own copy and start feeling the love.

Let me join the pride please?
I love the way this book is written. It starts with the perfect holiday experience and flashes back to the story of how Max and Shelly met and mated. The gentle way their love story is told kept me interested the entire way through and I really enjoyed the way Fiona is still featured and the more in-depth explanation of what the two ladies mean to each other. It’s a beautiful thing the way such love was found during a time of great tragedy and lose. I’m looking forward to the next book in the series.

To leave a review or to not leave a review?

To leave a review or to not leave a review?

This is the question.  In this digital world it is so easy to get in the habit of leaving a review.  I do not know about the other reading platforms, but I use the Kindle app on my IPad mini 4 and at the end of every book, if you scroll all the way to the end of the book, it prompts me to leave a review, on Amazon and Goodreads, by selecting how many stars I feel the book warrants and writing a 20-word minimum blurb about how I felt with a subject line.  I know a lot of people do not leave reviews for authors because they do not know what to say or they just feel it will take too long, or they didn’t particularly like the book.  I think you should ask yourself several questions when thinking about leaving a review:

  •        What would happen if the author had stopped when they didn’t know what to say?
  •        Wouldn’t you like to know what someone thought of your book if you had taken the time to write it?
  •       It only takes 20 words to leave a review.  Do you use more than 20 words when having a conversation?

Every review is a good review, even a 1-star review, if you take a couple of things into consideration.  Do not bash the author, or their work, just state the facts of why you didn’t like the book or why you loved the book.  It was too long, it got boring in the middle, I didn’t understand the plot, I fell in love with the leading man, the descriptions of locations were like I felt I was there, these are all good ways to start off.  Remember to keep that little lesson your mom always told you in mind, treat others how you would like to be treated.  You can certainly leave a review of your negative thoughts on the book without being nasty.

It is also a good idea to figure out what your standard is for a 5-star review system.  Do not feel that you are wrong just because you are going to leave a 1-star review and other people have left a 5-star review.  We each find different things interesting, this doesn’t make them right or wrong it just makes us human.  Not that you need to use this one, but here is mine:

5-star – I will go back and read these books again and again

4-star – Most of mine probably fall into this area, I may go back and re-read a few of them, but for the most part this book has been a generally pleasant experience and kept me interested until the very end

3-star – I will not go back and re-read these books.  It was either too slow or I lost interest, or the plot was boring.  I find that on these books I often feel the need to go to the last chapter to see if the book at least has a happy ending and it is worth continuing to the end

2-star – I have never actually given a 2-star review, but I would use this for a book that was a real struggle to finish, reading the last chapter was a necessity and gave me no help what-so-ever and I just did not like it at all

1-star – Obviously I have never used this one either, I would only use this review if I just could not finish the book no matter what the last chapter said.  If there were a lot of grammatical and spelling  errors and if it was just really offensive to me in general

I think another common misconception, when leaving a review, is that it must be a book review like you used to write in high school.  That is not the case!  The author already has a blurb written about the book, it must not have been too bad as you yourself picked the book to read, the reader just wants to know how you felt about the book.  It doesn’t hurt to mention the main characters, but there is no reason to re-state the plot.  That’s not to say you can’t, but do it in such a way that you are using the information as a tool to state why you did or didn’t like the book.  I also like to add a line at the end of my review stating if I intend to read the rest of the books in the series or more from the author.  This is a pretty good indicator of how I really felt.  Sometimes I will give a book a 3-star review, but state that I am going to read the next book or another from the author because I have already read previous material from the author that I liked.

I have one final thought on leaving a review, and many of you may disagree with me on this which is your right and, if you can be civil about it, I don’t mind hearing your opinion.  It is not okay to just leave a spoiler lurking for some unsuspecting future reader.  Spoilers are fine, if you can make the subject be “Spoiler Alert” or the first line of the review, but it is not a nice thing to just ruin the story for someone else before they even purchase the book.  Most authors have Instagram accounts, FaceBook pages and author specific groups, some even have chat groups specifically created to discuss books and those are the proper platform for spoilers.  When a reader goes onto one of those they are acknowledging that they may see a spoiler before they ever hit the “Like” button. It is up to them to ignore it and scroll on or to stay and read the post and comments.  Just remember, when you are leaving a review, that we are all looking for our next great adventure and would like to be surprised when we get to the end of it.

I hope that you find this helpful and that it encourages you to write a review in the future.  The authors put a lot of effort into their work and it is very kind of them to put themselves out there and share their imaginations with us.

Packing my bags to head to the mountains

Packing my bags to head to the mountains

A Mate’s Wish:  (Ouachita Mountain Shifters, book 0.5)
Published to Amazon on December 16, 2014
Author P. Jameson

This book came to be me in a round about way, I was lucky enough to pick up several books from this author for Free.  Unfortunately this, the true start of the series, was not one of them.  Once I discovered that, I just had to go pick it up before I could start reading the other books I had already gotten.  I am not disappointed!

I thoroughly enjoyed this book!  It is a new kind of shifter story where the shifters have come from a place where family and mate vows are not part of the norm for the males.  The females are basically mated with or without love, children are created and then left to their own defenses in the human world, the females are forced to watch their mates continue to cat around (excuse the pun) and the sense of family is not there.  All of the elders are now gone and it is up to the, now adult, children to try to overcome what they saw happening with the adults in their clan when not really having a basis of reference for what family is supposed to look like.

I am looking forward to seeing what is in store for this clan in the future.  Click on the book above to get your copy and start reading this fabulous new take on a shifter clan.

Packing my bags to head to the mountains
It is so hard to break from the conditioning of our youth, but this book gives us hope that it is possible. Beth never thought she would see the man she loved after his disappearance when they were kids. Renner loves Beth with all of his heart, but didn’t even recognize her when he sees her again. What’s a cat shifter to do?  Renner has to fight the path that all other cat shifters take in order to forge his own path to happiness and love. The path maybe fraught with tears and pain, but when your heart is on the love line you play for keeps and your HEA. I look forward to reading the next book in the series.

Sanctuary does not disappoint!

Sanctuary does not disappoint!

Finding His Family:  A Howls Romance (The Shifters of Sanctuary book 6)
Published on Amazon November 26, 2018
Author Kasey Belle

I can honestly say that I am so sad this is the last book in The Shifters of Sanctuary series.  (Luckily there is a spin-off series in the works "Constructing Sanctuary" so I will not have to suffer long without my favorite group of rescuers and collectors of strays.  Yay!)  I have loved every one of them, it even seems like each one is better than the one before it.  Why not save the best for last then with Matt's story?  I also love that Ms Belle has created this sanctuary around veterans and their families, when we come back from war we need a group we can connect and rely on as well as a safe and nurturing place to land.  Not many of us have that and I applaud Ms Belle for bringing this to light.

Ms Belle did not disappoint with this sixth and final installment in The Shifters of Sanctuary series.  She hits all of the high points of friends, family, caring for your fellow man, and love.  Matt has grown to a wonderful man and it is only fitting that he should find a mate that is his feminine counterpart.  It is so sad the tragedy that befell the children and their parents, but what a wonderful world that they found their way to Sanctuary and the two people in this world that were meant to become their parents and show them the love they need and deserve.

I would recommend this book, and this series, to all of my fellow readers.  Click on the book above to get your copy today!  You will enjoy this book by its-self,  but I would recommend starting with book 1 to get the full effect of the growth that has occurred in The Shifters of Sanctuary.

Official published review:
Sanctuary does not disappoint!
This might be my favorite book of the series. There are so many moments of tears and joy and each one I felt as if I was there. After watching Matt grow up throughout the series, it is wonderful to see him find his mate, family and HEA. I love that both of his packs prove their tolerance for all shifters when dealing with both his mate and his new children. It is such a wonderful contrast how his alpha line shows support while his mate’s alpha line actively shuns those who do not conform to societal norms. I also enjoyed the continued support for veterans and their families in this book. It would seem there is truly a place for all at The Sanctuary.

I think I’m going to move to Nightbrook

Bear in a Bakery (Nightbrook book 3)
Published to Amazon on November 24, 2018
Author Natalie Kristen

This is a little bit unusual for me as it is actually a new release, but I am in love with Ms Kristen's Nightbrook bears.  They are all so deliciously handsome and they are sensitive guys who are looking for their true mates.  Once they find those lovely ladies you had better watch out.  There is no hesitation on their part!  They get right to the wooing and making their lady love their own.  I'm a little sad to say that there is only one bear left at the mechanics shop if you are hoping one of the Nightbrook bears may be your mate.  You better purchase a ticket and head on over to schedule a car appointment to find out for yourself.  If you do not think you can make it, that is okay, just click on the book above to see what happens when one of the Nightbrook bears makes you his focus for love.

Official published review:
I think I’m going to move to Nightbrook
This story is another jewel in the crown of stories by the author. There are many shifters in Nightbrook, but the bears in this series are some of the kindest and caring in the entire town.  They may have their differences on occasion, but the feelings of love and friendship in the community can be found nowhere else.  Ian, a bear shifter, is the dream guy to many especially Alexa, a human, when she meets him after opening her Dream Room Bakery. They might have to take the long way to get there, but they finally get their HEA and their perfect family. I can’t wait to see what is next for the bears of Nightbrook.

The vampire we both love and hate

The vampire we both love and hate

A Mate for Lance (The Program book 5)
Published to Amazon on March 20, 2016
Author Charlene Hartnady

This is book 5 in the series, but I purposely left it as the last book I read.  I know that sounds weird, but Lance is just one of those characters that you either love or hate.  We know he has been through some terrible things, but he is hiding all of his fear and anxiety behind a wall of hate and meanness.  It's a wonder his own best friend didn't disown him.  Every woman feels that she can change him.  Of course they are all wrong, well until he meets the one woman who does not chase him at all.  In fact she makes him do all of the work.

I loved this book!  It was basically my favorite book in the entire series.  Lance finally showed that he has a gooey center under all of his issues and who would have thought that it was the one woman who didn't want him that made him see that.  All it took was the threat of her death, a separation, a moment with his ex, and his friends pushing him forward to set him on the path to his HEA.

Click on the book above to find out if you love or hate Lance.  Either way you are sure to like this book.

The vampire we both love and hate
Lance is a vampire with a chip on his shoulder a mile wide. He started out as a womanizer and has moved to indifference. Now, in his last possible time to enter the program, he either has to find his mate or give up on having a human one.  But don’t lose hope, this is Lance we are talking about, he does everything in his own time and in his own way. The love, and upset, in this book keeps your interest and keeps the story moving. I can’t wait to see what comes out of the Program next.

Chasing Payne (Therian Agents book1)
Published to Amazon on July 30, 2018
Author Chantel Seabrook

This book has been in my “To Be Read folder” on my Kindle app for a while.  I could just tell by the blurb and the cover that I would not want to put it down once I started reading.  I was right!  This book was one of my quickest reads because I just couldn’t stop reading it.  An A bomb could have dropped on my head and I still would not have lost interest.  I had to move the next 2 books in the series to the top of my “To be Read folder” because I just can’t wait to read the rest of them.  I think that it will be one of those cases, when I finish the third book, that I will be stalking the author to see if there are anymore because I will be in total denial that the series is over.

Click on the book above to start Chasing Payne and see what all the excitement is about.  (Oh, did I mention that this book is currently free for purchase on Amazon right now?)

This book was impossible to put down from the first page!  It was very well written with the perfect story line and level of angst, friendship and love.  Lora and Chase are thrown together again after so long apart and may finally get their HEA.  Well until you throw in some insecurities, family drama, and an unexpected enemy.  But like all great love stories, the have friends and family on their side.  Though the road may be long and fraught with pain, eventually they manage to reach their HEA.  I cannot wait to see what happens in the next book!

I just can’t get enough of the kindred!

Bonding With the Beast:  a Kindred Tales novella (Alien Warrior BBW Science Fiction Single Mother Romance) (Brides of the Kindred)
Published to Amazon on May 13, 2017
Author Evangeline Anderson

This book has been waiting in my Amazon Wish List for a very long time, but I only decided I needed after I started reading about the Kindred the other day.  I am kind of addicted to the series now and I found that I could not wait to read this one.  I was not disappointed!

I really enjoyed this book!  It takes a special kind of guy to accept someone else's child as their own, but it takes an even better man to be able to totally accept a child with disabilities.  Ms Anderson has created that perfect male in Hail.  He sees Brandon as just his mates son.  To him there is no real difference in Brandon then in any other person.  He really has no frame of reference to what "normal" is and therefore he is able to love with all his heart and have no prejudice or societal expectations and this allows their relationship to thrive. Of course, the fact that he is an absolute gorgeous male specimen does not hurt anything either.

I would recommend clicking on the book above to learn all about Hail and how special he really is.

Official published review:
I just can’t get enough of the kindred!
Gerri Wilder has nothing on the Goddess!  The Goddess of the Kindred knows what her people need and she has made it her mission to make sure they it, or really them.  I love how Hail not only accepts his love for Isobel, but he accepts her son Brandon. Even with a brief unscheduled field trip and a crazy ex, the Goddess’ will is done as these two make their way to each other and the love of a lifetime. So many Kindred and so few time to read them all.

Where can I find me a herd?

Fox Hunt:  The Stallions of Hidden E Ranch
Published to Amazon on November 6, 2018
Author Ellis Leigh

This book was so good that I just could not put it down once I started reading it.  The plot was good, the characters were wonderful, their were no major grammer/spelling issues (I cannot stand a book that is full of errors, I work hard for my money and want to know that I am paying for a quality product) from beginning to end this book hit all of the high marks with me.  Each stallion was unique and had a fully fleshed out personality and individualized interaction with the leading lady.  It is very rare that you find a reverse harem book where at least one of the charters doesn't end up getting washed out or lost in the personalities of the rest.  I applaud Ms Leigh on the realness of each of her seven heroes.

I have read many books by Ms Leigh and this story makes me want to add all of her books to the top of my to be read folder in the Kindle app.  Be sure to click on the book above to purchase your own copy and be transported away to the hang out with the stallions at the Hidden E Ranch.  you will not be disappointed!

This is reverse harem at its finest. The depth of the characters, the love and friendship they all share, and the way Waverly becomes the center of their world make this a book you will not want to put down until the very end. The evil human after Waverly brings out a new side of the herd as they work together to overcome the obstacles keeping them from insuring her safety.  I thoroughly enjoyed this book and recommend it to my fellow readers.

Legacy (Shifter Royal Dynasty book 1)
Published to Amazon on June 2, 2017
Author Becca Fanning

This book has all the hallmarks of a great book, but it really kind of stalled out by the middle. I was so frustrated with Korrin’s indecisiveness that I wanted to reach in the pages and slap him. He needed the push created by his cousin’s betrayal to make him do the right thing. By the time that happened though, it was too little too late to save the book. I haven’t decided if I will continue to read the next book in the series yet. I have read other books by this author, which I absolutely loved, so I may give it a second chance. But it will be towards the bottom of my to read pile.

Owned by the Bastard (The Soldiers of Wrath MC, 1)
Published to Amazon on December 30, 2014
Author Jenika Snow, Sam Crescent

If you haven't already been able to determine, I love a little dark to go along with my paranormal love.  This writing team never disappoints when I am looking for a darker more realistic read.  Any time you read a book about an Outlaw MC you should be prepared to find the seedy underbelly of life and the people who reside there.  These two ladies are able to give us the opportunity to look deeper, below the surface of ugliness, and see the tender hearted souls of their leading men who only show the world how mean, scary and alpha male they are.  It is a little like cooking, all you need to do id introduce them to the lady that steals their heart and suddenly they are warm, loving and showing their gooey centers.

This is book one in the "Soldiers of Wrath" series and I cannot wait to see what the rest of the series holds in store for me and my fellow readers.  I'm sure it will be more tender hearted alpha males, strong yet soft leading ladies and a brother-ship of guys who are always there for each other when the chips are down.  Click on the book above to ride away to another MC club to read of the joy that can only be found when two people meant to be one find each other.

The fear, anger and pain in this book intensifies the steamy scenes. Deanna didn’t ask to be brought into the world of an outlaw MC. The betrayal of the one who should protect her resulted in Demon taking ownership of her. The path for them is rocky from the start since no self respecting woman is going to roll over for kidnapping. But after a life debt is created Deanna calms down and examines her true feelings resulting in a peace and the best kind of HEA an old lady to a bad boy biker can expect.

Taking on Tory:  Magic, New Mexico book 2:  Paranormal Romance
Published to Amazon on February 23, 2015
Author S. E. Smith

Here is another book series that I stumbled upon by accident.  I am a fan of Aidy Award and I read book 1 and 2 of her "Fated for Curves" series built around Magic, New Mexico.  I was pleasantly surprised to find that there was an entire world of Magic, New Mexico books involving many different authors and they all started with the imagination of S.E. Smith.  This book is the second book in the series, so you may want to start from the beginning with book one "Touch of Frost".  Click on the banner below to see a full list of available books.  Either way you will not be disappointed.

I love the quirky little town of Magic, New Mexico.  You will find every imaginable type of immortal paranormal creatures there, heck there are even some aliens, ghosts and a genie if you can believe it.  The laughter, love and fun are sprinkled with romance trouble and intrigue making it the perfect town to spend more then a few hours on.

I would recommend this world to all of you.  Click on the book above to be taken away to the wild and crazy world of Magic, New Mexico.

Love came out of the rift

Mated the to Zoran (Scifi Alien Romance) (Zoran’s Chosen book 1)
Published to Amazon on August 1, 2018
Author Luna Hunter

I came across this gem of a series completely by accident.  I was slowly working my way through the available 'In the Stars Romance" books and fell in love with the Zorans, imagine my surprise to discover there is already an extensive book series all about the Zorans.  Of course, like I do with most series, I have started with the end and need to make my way back to the beginning.  The recommended reading order is "The reading order of my Zoran series is: Zoran Warriors -> Galactic Mates -> Barbarian Brides > Zoran's Chosen."

Oh well, it has not made my love for the Zoran's any less just because I tend to make a habit out of reading books in the incorrect order.  Blame it on my being a Gemini.  :-)

I really have fallen in love with this book.  Theros is very firm in his belief that Anaya is his fated mate and he does not waver.  But he does give her the time to come over to his way of thinking and does not immediately just take her from her home world and friends.  If we should get so lucky to find such a kind, caring and loving mate, it doesn't hurt that he is hot to boot.

I would recommend the Zorans to my fellow readers, although you may enjoy it if you read them in the proper order.  Either way, click on the book above to be transported to the Zoran home world.

Love came out of the rift
Anaya is a half Zoran human just trying to make a living when her life goes a little haywire. Theros is tired of being the used and abuse lowest soldier in the ranks. Luckily for them both he was commanded to be the errand boy. When she needed him most he appeared, a hero to her, her friends and even the neighbors pet. As they run from the enemy they connect with each, maybe saving an entire race. I’m looking forward to seeing what happens next.

I love Redknife!

I love Redknife!

Redknife (Skin Walkers book 2)
Published to Amazon on February 26, 2015
Author Susan Bliler

I just cannot get enough of the Skin Walkers!  Ms Bliler has taken an old tale and bred new life into it.  Instead of the evil ones of old, the Skin Walkers are the most honorable alpha males around.  Their entire existence is the search for their One, their Angel, the female who will make them whole.  Of course, like most males, some are in denial and they are trying to avoid their One so they insure she is not brought into the danger that is their world.  Silly boys, there is no stopping fate and when you try to avoid her she pushes back even harder.

My fellow readers, you are sure to fall in love with this loaner and his lovely lady.  Click on the book above to grab your copy today!

I love Redknife!
He is one of my favorite Skin Walkers. He seems so lost in this world and is a man apart.  With only one true friend and the only Walker of his kind. That is until he meets Cindy....then all bets are off. In true Walker fashion he will go to the wall for his one. The love that grows in this book is a beautiful thing uniting two people, alone in this world, and making them whole. This is a must read. I can’t wait to see what happens with the Skin Walkers next!

Neck Deep in Vampires (A BBW Urban Fantasy)
Published to Amazon on June 29, 2014
Author Georgette St. Clair

I am not usually one to read a 'Series" book set, meaning book one flows right into book 2.  (I am all about the series that has one couple reaching a HEA at the end of each book)  But I really love this author, (who would not love an author who always provides hot, steamy alpha male paranormals willing to put it all on the line for their ladies) I actually own all of her books and I am down to the last 4 that I still have to read, so I figured why not.  I was not disappointed!  It certainly helped that this series had both books already completed, I think that is actually why I do not usually enjoy this type of read because you are invested in the story and then......commercial break.  With no sign of when the muse will strike the author and the next book will be ready for the public's enjoyment.

I would recommend this series to my fellow readers, but it is very necessary to enjoy book one first or you will be completely lost as to the back story on this book.  Just click on the book above to purchase both of the books in this series.

Second book as good as the first
This is the second book of the series and to fully understand you really do need to read book one first. Frankie and Nicolas are back only with a new enemy, some new friends and a new task to undertake. This book follows seamlessly after book one and carried on with the love and excitement you feel in the first book. It almost makes me wish for another book with Simon finding his eternal escort.

Claimed (Brides of the kindred book 1) (Alien Warrior BBW Science Fiction Paranormal Romance)
Published to Amazon on February 9, 2011
Author Evangeline Anderson

As my first foray into Ms Anderson's world of the Kindred I am not disappointed at all.  I actually received this as a free book through book bub and I almost passed over it, but I decided it was free and there are already a lot of completed books in the series (23+ books) so why not.  I loved it!!  From the first page I was intrigued and then it was practically impossible to put down after that.  I was a little tiny bit put out by Olivia's continued reluctance to listen to her heart, but when you put into perspective that she was giving up her close relationship with her twin it was a little more understandable.

I would recommend this book to my fellow readers.  I already have the next book in the series in my "To be read" folder on my kindle app, it was just that good of a read.  I cannot wait until I get to read it and see what happens next!

The steaminess in this book is off the charts and the story line hooked me from the first page. This was my first time reading about the Kindred and their brides, but I was not disappointed. Olivia has some hang ups, although they are more about the fact that her life is changing then anything else. Baird is a returned POW and desperate to connect and keep his one that he has forgotten what his bride has to give up. They have a rocky beginning, but the HEA is worth the angst and heartache along the way. I look forward to seeing who the next bride is and how she feels about her Kindred mate.

Accidental Abduction (Alien Abduction book 1)
Published to Amazon on May 18, 2011
Author Eve Langlais

Accidental Abduction is the beginning of what appears to be a promising new series from Ms Langlais.  I am about half way through another of her series and I am thoroughly enjoying it as well.  She has a way of writing that mixes wit, humor and just enough snarkiness that you find yourself laughing out loud when you didn't mean to.  Yet there is also enough steaminess, love and tender moments to appeal to your romance readers passionate heart.  Her writing is full of strong female characters paired with their perfect alpha male, a seductive combination.

I would recommend this book as an introduction to Ms Langlais's writing or, if you have read her books before, just as the beginning of an exciting new series that is sure to make you equal parts laugh, cry, cheer and rejoice.  Just click on the book above to purchase your copy today.

Not the kind of fish he was looking for
This book is full of wit, laughter, snark and maybe.....love. Megan is a human accidentally abducted (aka rescued) during her lowest moment. Tren is an acquisitions specialist (aka pirate) fishing in the sea. What starts as a battle of wills, ends in a HEA that spans galaxies. I can’t wait to see what the next book in the series brings.

A hero from the dark

A hero from the dark

Malice’s Possession (The Brothers of Menace MC series book 1)
Published to Amazon on July 1, 2014
Author Jenika Snow

I love this cover!  It is just the right mix of dark and color.  This was a really good book and I will be continuing with the rest of the series and recommending it to my fellow readers.  I really like reading a good MC book and the only thing that had me give this book a 3 star rating was the casual use of weed by the members.  I know it seems odd since there was the use of other drugs, alcohol, violence and the willing prostitution of women and I am 100% sure that drugs run prevalent in this environment.  But I am one of those that believe a drug is a drug and operating a vehicle while intoxicated is a strong no for me.  That being said, the actual story line is the quality that I have come to expect from Ms Snow.  It had all of the alpha male traits, including the hidden layer of a caring man and the sweet sensitivity of a younger woman who has lived a hard life.

I truly think that my fellow readers would enjoy this book and, as with all of Ms Snow's books, the rest of the series can only get better.  Just click on the book above to get your own copy of the book.

A hero from the dark
If you want to read about the rough alpha male falling for the shy quiet younger girl, this is the book for you. This is an MC book, so not everything is legal. But all of the guys show their soft gooey centers at some point during the book. Malice is under Adrianna’s spell from the moment she stumbles out of the rain. With patience and care, and some hot steamy moments, he draws her out of her shell and shows her that she is strong. The HEA is a guarantee!  I look forward to reading about which MC member finds his one next.

Tangled: A Dark Protectors—Reese Family Novella
Published to Amazon on May 9, 2017
Author Rebecca Zanetti

Whoops!  I did it again.  I have a bad habit of not making sure books are in the correct reading order on my IPad mini.  Which, of course, means that I read the last one in this Novella from the Dark Protectors series before I read the first one.  Luckily for me, it was not really an issue in this case.  The couples in the first two books were talked about in this one, but it was not so in depth that I felt like I was missing important details or that I feel like I do not need to go back and read the other 2 books.

I really enjoyed this book.  It kept me engaged and held up to the standard I have come to expect from this author.  I will be sure to go back and read the first two now....hopefully in the correct order this time.

This book is part of the 1001 Dark nights collection.  To find more books in the collection just click on the banner below.

Ginny is a witch, a thief, and owned by her mate's enemy??  Theo is a vampire and the last of his brothers still living the bachelor life. This novella reunites these two and a fast paced adventure of battles between enemies, family and mates ensues. Love wins out and makes for the perfect ending for the Reese brothers.

Slade (New Species book 2)
Published to Amazon on September 8, 2016
Author Laurann Dohner

I just couldn't help myself!  Once I started reading the series I was just compelled to continue to the next book.  That is the beauty of when you find the perfect series for you, you just cannot stop at one.

I really love this book!  You can feel Trisha's pain with every interaction with Slade, but you can also feel the love that she carries for him.  Look out though, once Slade gets his head out of his tushy their relationship is like magic.  That is not to say they would never have issues, but you can feel his pain when he stays apart from her and you can even understand his reasoning.

I would recommend this book and series to all readers.  Just click on the book above to purchase your copy today.

An unexpected surprise
This is a great addition to the addictive New Species series. The trials they face mirror the human world with some added stress of being hunted and attacked due to the very differences that make them the perfect alpha males. In this book the love between Slade and Trisha is one we would all wish to find. I love that we continue to watch the characters grow and we even met some new ones. I look forward to seeing who will meet their perfect mate next.

Mated to the Grizzly

Mated to the Grizzly

The BEARly Controlled Grizzly (Bear Clan, 1)
Published to Amazon on November 13, 2018
Author Jenika Snow

I love this cover!  The ruggedness of the man and the bear, the details in the tattoos, it all leads to an aesthetically pleasing cover. I hate to admit it, but I choose about 90% of my books based on how the cover looks. I know, I know you are not supposed to judge a book by its cover, but have you seen some of the covers out there?  Whether I read any more from the author totally depends on what is between the pages, but a great cover will get you a trip to the “to-be-read“ folder at least once.

Now between these pages I have found a little gem that takes about 45 mins to an hour to read.  It is the perfect fast paced book to give you a hot passionate break between longer more intense books.  A palate cleanser if you will, for the brain.  It has the well written heat and passion I have come to expect from Ms Snow in a more condensed quick to read format.  I am really looking forward to discovering what she comes up with for the rest of the Bear Clan brothers and their soon arriving mates.

Click on the book above for a great reading experience!

Mated to the Grizzly
This is a fast, hot, intense, dirty read. Perfect for when you just want to get right to the meat of the story or when you don’t have time to spend on a longer tale. Bethany, a quiet human woman, and Zakari, a growly grizzly shifter, have an instant connection leaving no room for speculation or mistrust. The love they share will last a lifetime. I’m looking forward to reading what fate has in store for the next brother of the bear clan.

Calming his Fury

Calming his Fury

Fury (New Species Book 1)
Published to Amazon on September 7, 2016
Author Laurann Dohner

This is another one of my top five favorite Authors/Series.  I love the vulnerability in the strong alphas that make up the New Species males and the tough take no prisoners attitude of the New Species females as they struggle to find their place in this big new world they find themselves in after their release from a life in captivity.  The humans were not ready for these tenderhearted creatures and there are always those trying to harm them or to take advantage.  It will be a strong group of human men and women that fit into their lives and give them the love they desire while understanding their need to be truly alpha.  Each book is better then the last and I strongly encourage you to click on the book above to see what all of the excitement is about.  There are currently 14 books in this series, but I hope that Ms Dohner doesn't stop there.  I need to know what happens Jericho, Breeze and Flame if not all of the other New Species.  So long they have supported their fellow New Species without a hint of their own happy ending.  Alas only time will tell if she takes pity on her poor readers and brings us some joy for her characters.

Regardless, I highly recommend this book and this series.  Once you start you will not be able to stop until the very end.

Calming his Fury
The New Species are free and they will not be chained again. This new series by Laurann Dohner had me invested from page one. I could feel the pain and struggle of the characters when Ellie and Fury first meet, and Ellie’s confusion and hurt when they reconnect after a misunderstanding. The growth of all of the New Species is such that you know there will be many books to follow. Love and true affection grow throughout the story and before the end I found myself backing Ellie and Fury as if I was truly there. I can’t wait to see which New Species will find their lasting love and happiness next.

This was my first trip through the pages with Renee George and I have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed it.  This book is sure to make anyone who feels that they have no where fit in more comfortable with themselves.  Just when you least expect it Sunny finally finds the place she was meant to call home and a love to last for a lifetime. Not to mention a town full of friends and a new family who loves all of her quirks.

An Angel for King

An Angel for King

King (Skin Walkers Book 1)
Published to Amazon on October 28, 2013
Author Susan Bliler

Susan Bliler and her Skin Walkers are another of my all time favorite authors and book series.  Each book keeps getting better and I always find myself Stalking her website to see if she has another book in the works.  I know it seems sad, but who doesn't love an alpha male whose soul purpose in life becomes the love, care and protection of their mate, their Angel.  Sigh.....I would take the place of any of those ladies.

A sign of a good book is when you find yourself thrown into the story so deep that you can feel the air on your face and the sun on your skin.  That is what I get when I read the Skin Walkers series, I am transported to a world that I do not want to escape from.  In this book King has only just found Lilly and, thanks to a meddling doctor trying to escape her own fate, does not realize who she is to him when he almost loses her due to his own temper.  Lilly suffers tragedy, but arrives on the other side better for it with her very own Skin Walker hottie to boot.

I would encourage any of you who are looking for another great series to get immersed in to purchase this book by clicking on the book above.  The best part is that there are already 17 books in this series and, okay! I admit it! I checked out her website and she is working on another as we speak.  Yay!  You are sure to fall in love with the Skin Walkers just like me.

Choose your heart or your head

Happily Ever Alpha
Published to Amazon on December 25, 2017
Author Catherine Vale

I really enjoyed reading this book.  I am not particularly fond of historical romances which is my reason for the 3 star rating.  But if you prefer the more genteel coming together of two souls that are meant to be one then this is just the book for you.  There are humans and shifters among other paranormal creatures trying to learn how to come together as one society and a love that will be as strong as time once Arya stops letting her head confuse her heart.  This book has one of the most important features for me, a HEA, so it more then makes up for the time frame it is set in.  Click on the book above to get your copy today!

This book takes us back to a time of king and court, but keeps us in the countryside. It is a gentle build up to excitement and love unlike the fast paced frenzy of the modern world. Arya has lost everything, her family, her home and almost her own life. When her aunt Eve offers for her to come join her at her mother’s family home everything changes. Two men she will meet one a human and one a shifter, only fate will decide which will win her heart.

Sass in the south

Later Gator (Southern Fried Sass Book 1)
Published to Amazon on July 26, 2018
Author Julia Mills

This book was a little difficult to get into for me.  It started with a rambling dialogue that was a little difficult to follow.  I soon realized that the main character has a personality based on being in control and avoidance.  Once I got past that it was very entertaining and I could relate to her need to avoid change in her life.  I almost felt sorry for her mate though as he received the brunt of her foul temper as she came to terms with the fact that she loved him.  I say almost felt sorry for him because it seemed like his mission in life was to get on her nerves.  But he is a gator and they probably are not known for their warm and fuzziness.  Overall I would recommend this book for reading, it was a quick read and once you got past the first chapter it had a nice flow to it and was very entertaining.

This book is part of the Love Spells book series.  A series where multiple authors come together under a similar world theme and create a series within a series.

My Commander (Bewitched and Bewildered Book 1)
Published to Amazon on October 3, 2014
Author Alanea Alder

I have so many "favorite" books that I go back and read repeatedly, so I have decided that to really do them justice and share the love I will go back and read them again to share them with all of you.  A book truly loved is a book shared with friends.

This is one of those books that I can read over and over again.  Meryn is hilarious in her small, Dr Who (Seriously! you can't go wrong with a fellow Whovian) loving way and she knows just what to say and do to make Aiden change from the lager than life Unit Commander into her big, cuddly teddy bear. From the moment I started reading this book I was hooked and once Meryn scaled the fence there was no turning back.  The laughs started, and some tears, but the love was there for everyone to see.  I am in love with all of the characters and, every time I restart the series, I cannot wait to go onto the next book to see what is next for Meryn, Aiden and the other warriors in the Bewitched and Bewildered series.  Click on the book above to go get your copy and be taken to a world you don't want to leave.

This book is full of laughter, joy, friends, family and love. Meryn is a petite, spunky human who has never really fit in due to social awkwardness and knowing her place in the flow of life. Aiden is a kind, cuddly bear shifter who is The unit commander and the heir to the shifter elder. Their lives are forever changed when Meryn does what she does best, follows her own path and makes her own rules. Through many trials they find their way to each other and a love for the ages. The laughs, tears and aww moments abound throughout the pages of this book. I can’t wait to see which warriors mate finds their way to Lyconia next.
