What better way to
start the weekend then with one of my favorite books. This particular book is number 25 in the
series, so while it can be read alone you get the best experience by reading it
in order. This author has such a
fantastic ability when it comes to bringing all of her characters into each of
her books. Okay, obviously not all of
her characters, but the important ones are in almost every book and we might
not here from a character for several books and then all of a sudden, they show
up again. I love it because it makes her
books seem more like an alive and thriving community then just a flat surface
meant to bring enjoyment.
I love this book
because the leading lady had such a terrible childhood. We first met her many books ago when she was
just a child, and then we met her again when she first connected with her
lifemate. In this book we get to see her
grab womanhood by the horns and not forget about her childhood, but begin to
move past it. The author kept true to
someone who has experienced this kind of trauma, and made sure to have a
supportive lifemate who understands that flashbacks will happen, and it is no
one’s fault other then the bad people who ripped apart a small child’s youth.
I hope that you give
this book, this series, a chance, although I am pretty positive that it is
going to take more than just a weekend to enjoy.

Strength in the pack
By now this author has perfected her Dark Carpathians. I
love how the characters are recurring and yet each story is fresh and new. I
especially enjoyed the fact that Skylar and Dimitri finally have their moment.
The author took the time to develop these characters and they now seem to be
old friends. The action and danger in this story was intense and drew me
completely into the book. How exciting that once again we got to see so many
connections happening. We might not know which couple is going to find their
HEA next, but I can guarantee that I will love every minute of it.
