Unfortunately for him, she turns out to be a spiky, snippy little human female
with plans to save herself. Worse, her scent is the most tantalizing he’s ever
encountered... She’s beautiful, alluring, and HIS. His mate.
But the rules have changed. The pits are no longer a place where skill in
combat can elevate a fighter to freedom. It’s a place of despair and
hopelessness with no way out.
To save them all, he must deal with the devils of his past and fight a
new champion, one shrouded in secrecy who kills all who dare to step onto the
sands in challenge...

Strength and weakness are a heady combination
I should have known that Beauty's story was going to be
phenomenal! The author had me on the
edge of my seat from the first page and with each turn the excitement just
increased. I absolutely love the
characters! They each have not had a
fantastic past, but they made their little place in the world and when they
found their people they shined. I
enjoyed that Nat was such a strong character and yet she didn't lose the
softness of a gentle heart, and Beauty is everything I hoped he would be and so
much more. Just when I thought the story
wouldn't get any better the author revealed a secret that had my mouth dropping
and made me desperate to see what would happen next. I think I have said this at the end of each
book, but this one might just be my favorite.
It is certainly one that is going to stay with me and be a frequent
re-read, well at least until the next book in the series steals my heart.

Mina was born and raised in the East Farthing of Middle
Earth (otherwise known as the Midlands, England) and spend her childhood
learning all the sorts of things generally required of a professional
adventurer. Able to ride, box, shoot, make and read maps, make chainmail and
use a broadsword (with varying degrees of efficiency) she was disgusted to find
that adventuring is not considered a suitable occupation these days.
So, instead of slaying dragons and hunting vampires and the like, Mina spends
her days writing about hot shifters, government conspiracies and vampire lords
with more than their fair share of RAWR. Turns out wanna-be adventurers have
quite the turn of imagination after all...
(But she keeps that sword sharp, just in case the writing career is just a
dream and she really *is* an adventurer.)
The boring part: A full time author, photographer and cover artist, Mina can
usually be found hunched over a keyboard or graphics tablet, frantically trying
to get the images and words in her head out and onto the screen before they
drive her mad. She's addicted to coffee and would like to be addicted to
chocolate, but unfortunately chocolate dislikes her.
