Although these two did not get off to the best start, okay he was trying to get rid of the animal shelter that the town loved so much, they end up having a HEA for the ages.  Matthew quickly changes his mind on the animal shelter when he purchases his mate at the charity auction to help out the animal shelter.  Through the slow course of their romance, Matthews true self starts to show.  He might have been pegged a bad guy because of his reasons for coming into town, but his willingness to help the locals, the animal shelter and his own mate soon make him the hero.  At least in the eyes of his new friends and the 3 special ladies in his life.

I loved this!  I enjoyed the gentle tone of two mature people learning how to love each other through all of their actions. It especially warmed my heart that Matthew just accepted Sian’s daughters as his own. No matter what the past was, neither of them are willing to let it drive their future. I can’t wait to read the next book.
