Author of the Month – January 2021 – C.D. Gorri

Oh wow! It is so hard to believe that I am starting my 3^rd full year as a Book Blogger in 2021. Each year I try something new and keep what works/what I like the most and discard the rest. This year I am starting an Author of the Month feature.

What that means? Every Wordy Wednesday, Throwback Thursday, Fan Friday, and Character Spotlight for the month will be about works written by the featured author. And those Monthly Book Boxes giveaways I started will feature that author’s work and items that make me think of the books/characters that I love the most.

Not to worry! I will be keeping Meryn Monday, Demands from the Dominant, and the Strikerisms that I love so much, and all of those delicious Book Birthdays. Plus, as I strive to reach my goal of 1,000 books read in 2021, when I come across a book or author that just blows me away, I will be slipping in some of those Sydney’s Stars that I toyed with last year.

Oh, and I did a thing last month. I finally got around to creating a logo and a website that all of my different platforms can live under. Romance Readers Guide to Passion, Veteransrising, and PNRReadersPassion will still retain their names on Blogspot, Facebook, Instagram and Etsy, but now they will be easier to find by visiting my website and launching from there. That being said, please be patient with me as the site is a work in progress.

I could probably wax on for a bit longer, but I am sure that you would rather learn more about my January 2021 Author of the month. This author is one of my favorites! In fact, 4 of her books have made it to my go-to comfort re-reads that I find myself reading at least once a year. I love how she has created an entire world where all of her characters live. Even when she writes in a different author's universe, she still manages to tie them all together, making for a reading experience that is unparalleled.

I've always been an avid reader, and I have a profound love for books and literature. When I'm not writing or taking care of my family I can usually be found with a book or tablet in my hand. I live in my home state of New Jersey with my husband, our children, and our dogs, Dash and Chewie.

Red skin that is. I loved this book! The author did not disappoint with the amount of love that this obscure shifter feels when he catches his curvy mate. Their relationship is the stuff of fairytales and sure to make you swoon. I can’t wait to read what’s next from this author.

Another year over and a new one beginning means starting a fresh new spreadsheet to collect all of the books I will read in 2021. But before I can call an end to 2020, I need to share with all of you my Top 10 most read authors of 2020. Follow me over the next 10 days as we count our way down to #1.

Today we are starting with the number 10 position and one of my favorite MC Shifter authors.

Out of the 237 total authors who have graced my Kindle app this year, Ms Boon has found herself the center of my attention on 12 different occasions, bringing her to the #10 spot.

My Year in Books 2020

I sure was a busy reader this year. I didn’t meet my goal of 1,000 books, but I am going to blame that on COVID, plus 818 total books read doesn’t look too shabby.

I am not a quitter, so I am going to keep the same goal this year of 1,000. Wish me luck!

Finally a family

This book is an amazing addition to the Mystic Mountain series. I really enjoyed these characters. They both had their hang ups, but they just kept growing stronger together. I love that we got to see so many of the characters from both Mystic and Sylvan City. The author really drew me in with this story and I loved the surprise reveal at the end. This author really does PNR right, and I can’t wait to see what happens next.

Who would have thought that I'd start off as a painfully shy child writing stories and end up as a painfully shy adult writing books and publishing them for others to read? Crazy? That's me!!

When I was a little girl, I read every book I could get my hands on and if I didn't have one available to read, I'd get out my pencils and paper and write down stories and scenes. Waiting for my mom to finish working, I'd duck into the ladies' breakroom and use the typewriter. I'd feel like Jessica Fletcher, happily tap, tap, tapping away until I got to 'The End.' Couldn't quite get the flourish after that and end up tearing the paper, but it was cool and scary to sit down and read the book or give it to my friends to read.

Now my 'typewriter' doesn't clack the same way and the I don't even have paper to pull out of it with a nod of satisfaction, but I have the joy and excitement of sharing my characters and books with people all around the world!

I hope you'll enjoy reading my books, because I'm going to keep writing as long as the characters are feeling chatty!
