Featured Series – Crimson Ops – Mandy M. Roth

Out of all of the books that Ms Roth has brought us, my favorite has to be the Crimson Ops series.  I don’t know why since I am usually on team shifter, but when it comes to these vampires, I am team vampire all the way.  I don’t know if it is because she has taken these strait-laced ancient beings and thrown in slap stick humor that just hits you in the funny bone.  Especially when you throw in Ms Roth’s shifters, you know those kilt wearing twins and Striker just don’t know how to quit, and the other characters she has thrown into her world. 



It is absolutely hilarious to see how the Fang Gang tries so hard to maintain the air of maturity when they are faced with an unwashed drug addict and a mannequin toting silent man.  I love how she has created this fun-loving rivalry between the two groups and with each book it escalates and just keep gets funnier.  I really need to get me some of those t-shirts they mock each other with.  The best part is, that these guys might give each other a hard time, but when it comes down to the wire, they are there for each other.  Kind of like I can call my brother and sister names, but you better not.

There is just something about the fang gang. Don’t get me wrong, I love all of the ops books, but the vampires just seem more. The author has made them old, with the classic proper air we expect, and a beautiful brutality that we don’t see in the shifters or fae. I really enjoyed this book and the way that these two had to overcome preconceived notions, protective alpha males and a group of baddies to reach their HEA. I can’t wait to read the next book in the ops series.

Not by the normal means

I don’t know why, but of all the I-Ops books, the fang gang ones are my favorite. It could be because the author manages to take these ancient men, who are often stuck in the ways of the past, and gives them these hilarious personalities and causes them to have fun at their own expense. Regardless, the author has continued the action and adventure with this book, which is so full of research and humor. It’s obvious that the author put a lot of time and effort into creating this amazing book and the awesome HEA. I am looking forward to the next book by this author.

Just when I thought I couldn’t love the fang gang anymore Landros goes and finds his mate. I hate to report it ladies, but another one of these amazing alpha males is off the market. This book is full of the craziness that comes with Bill and Gus and the twins. Poor Wheeler continues to get the short end of the stick and by the end he is in the need of assistance. I enjoyed the quirkiness that is Clara and I’m so glad the two of them find their HEA. I can’t wait to read about what happens next. Hopefully it will bring what Wheeler needs.

Knowing when to be strong
Wow! The author took my breath away with this book. She covered some seriously difficult topics and she made her heroine a true survivor. The story would not have been as good if her man had been anyone else. He was the perfect counterpart to her, letting her be strong and supporting her weakness. This book is full of action and danger and the emotional connection that makes it so wonderful. There are some triggers mentioned as history, so if you are sensitive to that this might not be the book for you. I enjoyed reading this book and look forward to the next book by the author.

You will not be able to put this book down. From the endearing steaminess as these three make their way toward a HEA that is perfect for them, to the need to know who the killer is you will be enthralled from the very first chapter. Neither the taming of this wild broken woman with a soft gooey center or the capture of the killer will go easy, but it will be worth the effort in the end. This is a fantastic conclusion to a wonderful series and I can’t wait to see what the author brings to us next.

Especially when it is personal. This is the perfect beginning to a brand-new series. The author has returned with all of the hooks that draw you into a great story. Right from the beginning she starts to build and shape her characters into ones that we will want to follow through to their HEAs, then she throws in a story that builds and builds until the crescendo breaks at the end. I love the byplay between the two leads and how everything goes back to family. I hope there are many more books in this series because I can’t wait to see what happens next.
