You might remember
this next New Species who is celebrating his 6th Book Aversary. He’s tall, he’s handsome, he’s kind, oh, and
he’s a primate. That’s right! It’s Smiley!
Smiley entered this world for the first time on October 27, 2014,
according to Goodreads. Now, over the
course of 6 years, Smiley has only had 2 covers. You guys can judge for yourselves, but I kind
of like the first one better. There’s
just something about that golden chest and the lettering that draws my
attention and keeps it.
I really enjoyed this
book, but there are points in it where I would love to grab a hold of Vanni and
shake her. He innocence is enough to get
her killed, but then when she is so gentle with Smiley her innocence couldn’t
have been a more essential part to her character and the story.
I felt bad for Smiley
because everyone thought the worst of Vanni, thank goodness, the author brought
them to their HEA. Smiley may not feel
the same urges as the felines and canines when it comes to his mate, but
sometimes the need to snuggle is more important than anything else.
You guys are going to
love this one. The author put just as
much action and danger in it as her other stories with a layer of sweetness
that made this a guaranteed re-read.
Happy Reading

Smiley (New Species book 13)
Published to Amazon on September 17, 2016
Author Laurann Dohner
*** THIS IS A RERELEASE OF A PREVIOUSLY PUBLISHED BOOK ***
Vanni is furious when her fiancé tricks her into attending a conference where
his father’s church is protesting the New Species Organization. She hates
everything those vile bigots stand for. Vanni goes to the bar to cool off and
ends up seated next to a handsome New Species. Things heat up fast when they
are both drugged.
Smiley doesn't want to believe the sweet human would dose them with the
breeding drug. He's willing to trust her and determined to save her life. He'll
hold her. Protect her. Offer up his body to distract them both from the pain.
She is his female, even if she doesn't realize it yet.
Official published review:
Smile at the unexpected
I feel like I say this after every book, but wow! How
exciting that Smiley found his mate. It’s a little shocking how they first came
together, but his love and devotion is everything I have come to expect from a
primate New Species. The author put a lot of action to this book and it drove
my love of the series up even more. So many New Species who need to find their
HEA. I can’t wait to see who is next!

I'm a full-time wife, mother, and author. I've been lucky enough to have spent
over two decades with the love of my life and look forward to many, many more
years with Mr. Laurann. I'm addicted to iced coffee, the occasional candy bar
(or two), and trying to get at least five hours of sleep at night.
I love to write all kinds of stories. I think the best part about writing is
the fact that real life is always uncertain, always tossing things at us that
we have no control over, but when writing you can make sure there's always a
happy ending. I love that about being an author. My favorite part is when I sit
down at my computer desk, put on my headphones to listen to loud music to block
out everything around me, so I can create worlds in front of me.
