Look who just celebrated 9 years on the 19th of this month! According to Goodreads, this book was originally published on August 19, 2011. And look at that original cover, so hot! What do you think compared to the current cover?
Slade has to be one of
my absolute favorite books. I love how Slade
is so male when he is interacting with Trisha, not because he doesn’t want her,
but because he does, and his drugged mind didn’t realize she is the one he is
longing for. I hope that isn’t
considered a spoiler, but I just couldn’t help myself. It is the keystone that all of their
interactions are built on. I love that they
finally get that connection and the HEA they both deserve.
The author took us on
a wild ride with this one. Very literally
actually since at some point we find ourselves careening down a hill in an out
of control SUV. But that is what makes
this author and this series so remarkable.
She is able to include so much danger and action in her books and under
it all is this love story that just grabs your heart and doesn’t let go. I find myself excited when I read the rest of
the books in the series and continue to see glimpse of the couples and what
their lives have become since their own stories were told.
This book and this
series are ones that I recommend to everyone to read. Be warned though, once you start you might
not be able to step away for the next 15 books.
But every minute will be totally worth it.

This is a great addition to the addictive New Species
series. The trials they face mirror the human world with some added stress of
being hunted and attacked due to the very differences that make them the
perfect alpha males. In this book the love between Slade and Trisha is one we
would all wish to find. I love that we continue to watch the characters grow
and we even met some new ones. I look forward to seeing who will meet their
perfect mate next.
