Fan Friday – Fury – Laurann Dohner

What better way to go into a holiday weekend then with one of my all time favorite books.  This is a book that I go to when I am overwhelmed with life, and overwhelmed by my “To Be Read list”.  I love that when I pick up the book for the 10th time that it still feels like I am reading it for the first time and yet I also feel like I am surrounded by friends.  Of course, with all fantastic first books in a series, I usually end up reading the rest of the books before I am done and able to move on.  What can I say, I just love this entire series?  I know that the author only recently gave us book 15, but I really hope there will be more books in the future.  There are still so many characters that I want to know if they find their HEA.

Trust me when I say that you will not be disappointed if you grab this book to start your holiday weekend.  No matter what you choose to read, I hope you have a fantastic holiday and are staying safe while we still try to navigate the COVID situation.

Happy Reading

Ellie is horrified to discover the pharmaceutical company she works for is doing illegal experiments. Company scientists have spliced human and animal DNA, creating exotic new species. One such “experiment” captures her heart and she’ll do anything to save him—even if he hates her for it.

Fury has never known compassion or love. He’s spent his life in a cell, chained and abused by humans. The one woman he allowed himself to trust betrayed him. Now he’s free and set on vengeance. He vows to end her life but when she’s finally in his grasp, harming her is the last thing he wants to do to the sexy little human.

Fury can’t resist Ellie—the touch of her hands, her mouth on his skin, her body wrapped around his. He’s obsessed with the scent of his woman. And Ellie wants Fury—always has. She craves his big, powerful body and wants to heal his desolate heart.

But loving Fury is one thing…taming him is another.

Official published review:

Calming his fury

The New Species are free and they will not be chained again. This new series by Laurann Dohner had me invested from page one. I could feel the pain and struggle of the characters when Ellie and Fury first meet, and Ellie’s confusion and hurt when they reconnect after a misunderstanding. The growth of all of the New Species is such that you know there will be many books to follow. Love and true affection grow throughout the story and before the end I found myself backing Ellie and Fury as if I was truly there. I can’t wait to see which New Species will find their lasting love and happiness next.

NY Times and USA Today Bestselling Author

I'm a full-time wife, mother, and author. I've been lucky enough to have spent over two decades with the love of my life and look forward to many, many more years with Mr. Laurann. I'm addicted to iced coffee, the occasional candy bar (or two), and trying to get at least five hours of sleep at night.

I love to write all kinds of stories. I think the best part about writing is the fact that real life is always uncertain, always tossing things at us that we have no control over, but when writing you can make sure there's always a happy ending. I love that about being an author. My favorite part is when I sit down at my computer desk, put on my headphones to listen to loud music to block out everything around me, so I can create worlds in front of me.
