This is the end of the
Book Aversaries for September. I know, I
know! Why has it taken me so long? You would think that it would be fairly easy,
re-read the book, do some research and put my fingers to the keyboard to write
something up. But sometimes it is not so
simple. I mean the fact that this book
was originally published September 23, 2014 and has only had 2 covers is the
easy part.
But then I have to think
about what I want to say that will convey the true depth of this book. I know some readers find this book difficult
to read, but I do not find that.
Darkness is one of my favorite types of characters, he has led such a
terrible life that he does not believe that he deserves to have anything good
and right in his world. And then fate
intervenes. But like all good alpha
males, he fights against fate. And he
loses….okay well in reality he wins, but until he gets his head on the right
page he thinks he has lost. Thankfully
the author did a fantastic job of writing Darkness. She took the time to slowly build his
character up through the previous books and then added the depth of his
background with his own story. This is
one of those books that can be read as a stand-alone, but I highly recommend
that you read the series up to this point before adding this one to your
Kindle. If you take the time and the
chance I think you will fall in love with the intriguing character that is
Darkness.

Darkness is just one of those people that you are hoping he
gets his HEA from the first time he’s introduced. He tries so hard to put up a
wall, but his soft heart occasionally slips out. The author created the perfect
mate for this alpha male and made him have to work to keep her. I loved it!
This book has everything I have come to expect from this author and is one you
won’t want to miss. The next book is already calling my name.
