The best thing about
celebrating Book Aversaries is that I have an excuse to reread my favorite
books. Oh wait, I might have already
said that before. Huh, well, anyway it
makes it no less true. This book right
here is the one that started my love affair with this author. Of course, I have
since turned into a stalker, but what else is a fan to do while the author is
in her batcave creating more fantastic books? This cover is the
original cover, but really! Why would you mess with perfection?
Like all series
starters, we met the pivotal group of characters in My Commander, and I fell in
love with them all. Thankfully we continue to see them throughout the future
books as there characters are needed once again. I love that Meryn is this
quirky, grouchy little person who hides a wealth of sweetness and vulnerability
under her armor. Aiden is this big, burley bear shifter who keeps his
marshmallow center hidden behind a gruff exterior except for those who he holds
in his heart. Together these two traverse the world of the paranormal bringing
mayhem and celebrations along the way.
Trust me when I say
that you are not going to want to miss out on this book and this series.
Heck! I even managed to convert my eldest daughter into Meryn’s cult
of followers. This author just recently published a new book, so it might be a
while before we get another new one. But at least there are 12 already out to
keep us occupied until then.

Alanea Alder started writing at a very young age, some of
her first scribblings are treasured in a keepsake box and written in green
marker. She started when she was still in grade school and continued
on through college.
