Throwback Thursday – Lion’s Heat – Lora Leigh

This week was a toss up for which book to choose, and I may have read them both to decide.  Purely for research purposes, I assure you.  They were both from Lora Leigh’s Breeds and I love them both fairly equally, but I decided to go with Lion’s Heat.

This book is one of my favorites from the series, but it is a difficult book for me to read because it is so emotional.  You would think a hard mating would be exactly what Jonas deserves, but after reading the book you discover that that is not the case by far.  The author really delves into the way Jonas thinks and the reasons for why he behaves the way he does.  We all know Jonas has a penchant for being cavalier in the way he maneuvers his enforcers into their mateings.  But in this book, we also get to see the sacrifices he has made the poor treatment he has endured by those who are meant to love him most.  By the time I get to the last page I am always crying because Jonas finally has his HEA.

If you haven’t already read this book, you will not want to miss reading it.  You will come away from it with an entirely new appreciation for Jonas and what he has managed to accomplish.  I hope you grab a copy and start your weekend off on the right foot, and possibly a box of tissues.

Happy Reading

The mating urge cannot be ignored...

Bad boy Jonas Wyatt knows it is fate that Rachel becomes his mate. He can sense it. He can also sense her reluctance. But she has little power over the mating heat of the Breeds. It is Jonas's destiny to claim her. And nothing will stop him from having his way.

Official published review:

How the mighty will fall

This book is one of my favorites in the series. Jonas may be the boogeyman of the breeds, but no one notices he is also their heart. I love how his mating is anything but easy and the way he puts Rachel and Amber first, even to his own detriment. The author kept the story moving between the emotional intensity and with so much action and danger around every corner. I can’t wait to see what happens next with the breeds and little Amber.
