I love the Magic and Mayhem universe!  This is my first book by Lissa Matthews, but it is the perfect addition to the universe.  There is just enough snark and hilarity to balance out the evil doers and the Baba Yaga’s terrible disco ball loving dress code.  Poor Broo, magical folk just do not understand the trauma that comes from entering the system when you are a kid.  I’m sure they meant to do the best thing for her, too bad that this was not it.  All things considered she turned out well and even after getting her magic she did not mean to use it for bad.  Plus, the first person she hurt was herself when she lost a boyfriend and a friend because of the flick of the wrist.

I would have loved to learn a little more about her frog prince mate and the wand that seems to be older than time, but it was not in the cards for this book.  I look forward to reading the next book in this series!
